The Podcast - Veganism Even for Christmas?
Today I listened the podcast about food for Christmas. In this podcast, two people was talking about Christmas dinner in America. In Japan, people generally eat chickens and cakes, and think people in America eat them, too. Though Japanese think so, Americans don't eat chickens and cakes especially. They eat cookies as special food of Christmas, and eat dinner with their family.
I got a little shock when I listened this podcast, because my image of American people was broken by this American reality, but there is no reason that American must eat chickens, so it is natural they eat whatever they want to. There might be some religious reasons people can't eat chickens, but everyone may be able to eat cookies.
Ha ha... Yes, I never heard about "Christmas cake" before I came to Japan. 😵
